Vancouver Island Brewery began in Victoria in 1984, when a group of "Islanders" responded to the fleeing of all national and independent breweries on the island. Vancouver Island Brewery began brewing handcrafted lagers and ales with fresh, distinctive flavors for the West Coast palate.

Victoria Pilsner was named after the beautiful city where our brewery proudly creates some of the world's finest beers. It has a rich golden colour and is brewed with a blend of the highest quality hops including  Czechoslo-vakian Saaz hops. Our Bavarian brewmaster, Ralf Pittroff, selected the Saaz variety to give this beer its herbal aroma, mild bitterness and well-balanced flavour reminding him of the best European pilsners. We are excited to offer you the Island's first premium pilsner, unique as the Island we live on and brewed with time-honoured tradition. Cheers!
